Olympic marathon bronze medallist Deena Kastor narrowly missed her North American women’s 15 kilometres road running record when winning yesterday’s USA Championships at the 30th edition of the Gate River Run in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

Kastor‘s 47:20 victory which was a near solo run was just 5 seconds short of the mark she set when claiming the title over the same Gate River Run course four years ago.
