Race start petition
« on: November 13, 2003, 10:39:20 AM »
I'm sorry for the confusion but the race start petition mentioned in a previous thread has been moved to a new site. If you would like to sign the petition, click here.

A bit of an explanation of the petition. A number of runners have recently been complaining on other forums about lack of organization at the starts of road races. Basically, slower runners have been lining up in front of faster runners, causing faster runners to be slowed and causing safety issues as, at times, much faster runners have to attempt to navigate around much slower runners. This is a petition asking race directors to take start line organization seriously and make sure runners are lining up properly.

The reason for the change in websites is because the creator of the petition wanted to allow runners to send a link to the petition to the race directors of their choosing. The original site did not allow visitors to view the signatures or even the number of signatures that the petitioner had gathered. This website allows visitors to easily get the number of signatures, as well as view the signatures and any comments the signees have made. This will allow anyone who is interested to send the above link to race directors in order to let race directors see how many people feel that this is an issue.
