Successful change in morning diet -
« on: August 02, 2007, 12:35:36 PM »
It has taken me some time but I have changed my morning diet of two doughnuts and two mountain dews - to water (with propel mix) and a granola bar.  That is a drop in nearly 1500 empty calories.

Now time to fight the junk lunch -

Not just a drop in calories, also an increase in quality nutrition. Good job.

I'm also working on cleaning up the diet a bit. Yesterday after work, I went out and picked 18 cherry tomatoes from the back yard. Had 11 as an evening snack and the other 7 as a morning snack at work today.

good job Ed, when you get to dropping the afternoon soda (assuming you have one of those) let me know how you do that... at least I drink diet cola (no calories)...

I'm not much of a breakfast eater... I usually have a protein bar and a pot of decaf tea at work at about 9:30... oh, I usually get up at 5:30... even in the summer when I got up at 4:45 and ran I still wasn't hungry till about 9 AM...  ::)

I slipped but am back on a better morning diet.  I almost kicked the soda habit entirely then it got me back with a vengence.  I guess I need to titrate myself off of the evil caffiene.

A medication change has me a little off kilter - bad energy, very grogy in the AM etc . . but things are improving there - I guess my body chemistry is adjusting now.

Rita- by the way I was drinking about 4-5 20 Oz Dews a day.  I had it down to one 12 Oz can but went back up to 4 bottles.  Now I am down to 2 20 Oz bottles and going to cut that (slowly) to one bopttle and one can.  Then one bottle then one can.  If I do this more slowly than last time I should be successful.
