The Spanish delegation that will compete at the 12th IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, will include 28 men and 8 women among whom 400m sprinter Marc Orozco, who won the Spanish Senior Indoor Championships and middle distance runners David Bustos, fourth at last year’s World Youth Championships in Ostrava and Víctor Corrales, the European Junior 1500m silver medallist.

Also of World class standard are high jumper Miguel Ángel Sancho who has a PB of 2.22m, the third highest in the World Junior rankings this year and Manel Concepción, Ostrava’s Pole Vault World Youth bronze medallist.

Eusebio Cáceres who lies in third on the World Junior lists with his 7.86m completes a strong group of Spanish jumpers in Bydgoszcz.

Javier Cienfuegos also stands a chance for a medal as the hammer thrower has set no fewer than five national junior records, his latest 76.13m positioning him in fifth in the World Junior lists.

Last but not least, Spain will be traditionally strong in the race walking events with twin brothers Lluis and Manel Torla, respectively third and fourth at last year’s World Junior Championships.
