A group of 22 athletes left Nairobi on Saturday (5) for the Poland World Juniors teeming with confidence determined to defend the overall title Kenya won two years ago in Beijing.
Led by former World junior cross country bronze medallist Mathew Kisorio, coach Kariuki Gekonyo said they knew that they will be the target of the rest of the world.
"I am not worried of that because we have prepared this team well and they are going to follow the tradition," said Gekonyo.
Some of the juniors are strong enough to challenge their senior counterparts but were kept away from competition leading to the national trials which were held this weekend.
