I know I know...
« on: August 05, 2008, 08:38:55 AM »
okay I know I have been asking alot of questions, but I am really trying to get in great shape and take better care of my body, and I just like others feedback, so one more question : ) swimming, how is it for cardiovascular training and doing it while training for a 1/2 marathon to get stronger? I have heard from people that on a scale of 1-10 it was a 10 for excersising bc of the little impact it has on ur joints, etc. How do you guys feel about it?

It's great cardiovascular training but it's not going to do much to prepare your legs for running.

actual swimming or aquajogging?

swimming, imho-----close to zero.  (and I'm saying that because as I've allotted hours to learning how and my running mileage was cut into 1/2, my running is about the level I was at after taking 6 weeks off of running and replacing it 100% with biking).

aquajogging.....if it's what you got to do for a few weeks and you keep your legs at 180+ per minute... pretty good replacement.
