When Meb Keflezighi failed to make the current U.S. Olympic team, first in the marathon, then the 10,000 meters, Ron Tabb offered some advice.
The former running star told Keflezighi that come the Beijing Games, he should go away. Far away. To some remote island. A place devoid of electricity.
The reasoning? After winning the marathon silver medal four years ago in Athens, Keflezighi shouldn't subject himself to watching the Olympics and wonder what could have been.
