Vacation - lost running time
« on: August 13, 2009, 01:41:33 PM »
The first day of my vacation I somehow pulled a muscle.  I do not recall ever feeling the pain of it - I may have done it somehow in my sleep.  The first morning while walking a couple of blocks to the outhouse the muscle on the left inside of my groin area was very tight and I was experiencing pain and it caused me to walk oddly.  The pain lasted until a couple of days ago.

This really sucks because I lost about 10 days of running and I was planning on kicking butt at Al's and setting a new PR.  I am going to work hard until Al's and see where the chips fall.

I lost running as I am the only driver in our household... I got a run in before I drove 8 hours to get to my sister's house but when we took an overnight trip and I had to drive two days in a row it all went to heck, then the drive home also had a shortened workout... but it was still worth it... MY big mistake was coming home, getting up too early to see which pair of shoes I put on, then running with the dog in the dark... combination of (you guessed it) old shoes & the dog being overjoyed to be out running again after being pet-sat by a friend who doesn't run meant I went too fast, too far and NOW my feet, knees and lower back are all killing me... and I have three weeks of laundry at home and too much to do at work besides...so I'm not sure coming home was the best idea ::)
