Even if the story is a bunch of bunk it is a refreshing read and something to give us hope for the purity of the sport.

It reflects an account I have seen from a confessed doper.  George Malley, former AR-holder in the steeple and the half-marathon, has long had a web presence (going back to the t&f listserv about 15 years ago) and he has shared his account of how he came to be jabbing needles in his arm during his time in Eugene.  I definitely recall him relating that he could not continue the regimen because he had trouble looking himself in the mirror, knowing that his performances would not be his own.  He was another who never got caught or punished for what he did.
