Not sure how many of you follow the NFL or Badger football closely enough to know the story of
Jim Leonhard. I heard him interviewed on the radio today and was just amazed at his story, simply incredible. Was a walk-on at UW, coming from a really small town in Wisconsin, and signed as an undrafted free agent in the NFL after college and now he is a starter (for the second year in a row) on a team in the AFC championship game. When people look up "tenacious" in the dictionary, they should find this guy's picture next to the entry. He is getting a lot of favorable press right now, leading up to the game. I like the Saints in the NFC championship game - and not just because Rockstar Favre is leading their opponent - and did not really have much of a feeling either way for the AFC championship teams, but with guys like Leonhard and
Thomas Jones playing for the Jets it is becoming really hard not to like them.
In other Wisconsin-related news, I also heard Bruce Pearl (former UW-M hoops coach) interviewed this week and he delivered the goods. Along with coaches like Calipari and Krzyzewski, I could listen to Pearl talk about his craft for hours.
