Congratulations Team InStep/Hillrunner.com
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:46:47 AM »
For the 8th time in the 9 years that I've been involved in various incarnations of Team Hillrunner.com at Al's Run, I'm proud to report that the team pulled through for an Al's Run victory. It was by no means an easy win, with a few team members having a rough day and the team winning by less than 5 minutes but it's a win nonetheless.

Final team results:

   1.  INSTEP/HILLRUNNER.COM
                         28:29   28:43   29:08   31:47   32:17 = 2:30:24
KYLE UDOVICH, JEREMY DUSS, RYAN HILL, RICK SMITH, CHARLENE LARSON
     2.  PERFORMANCE RUNNING OUTFITTERS
                26:17   27:31   33:05   33:31   34:55 = 2:35:19
CAMERON AUSEN, JAMES DAUL, GARY DOBRZYNSKI, JULIE FANGMANN, LAURA           CAULFIELD

The top two teams in our division had the top two team times of any division.

Next year will be a real challenge. I fully expect PRO to come at us with a very strong team but we should also be able to field a very strong team. Expect much faster times for both teams and another close finish.

Congrats on the Team W -

So what do you think it will take next year 2:25-2:27?

I suppose it depends on the weather amongst other things

I wouldn't be surprised by sub-2:25, possibly pushing 2:20, if we have good conditions. PRO has some strong runners and could easily put together a team with 5-7 runners all capable of sub-29. Of course, I could say the same of us. Also, don't forget that I also like to see team depth. I'd love to see a team warmup with 15-20 runners and I love to see the 40 minute runners on our roster. I just also hope to see a good 5-7 26-29 minute runners also.

I would love to find a year where the race worked out and I was in shape - Maybe it will be 2011.

I am not planning on a fall marathon, but do plan on Leadville 100M (Late Aug) - The training should keep me from getting fat like this year.

Be 50 next year for Al's.  Always a good reason to come out guns a blazin'
one more time.

Congrats on a great team effort and a "W" in the column again.
