Why dink around? Go for it, be the best. It is worth whatever risk there is even if you fall short. You will be better.

Thanks Andrew for the link. For those who can't stream at work or for whatever reason, we're ready to go with live updates here.

Here's the plan. If you want rapid fire quick, concise updates, check out the Twitter link above. If you want less frequent, more verbose updates, stay tuned here or at Facebook or Google+.

I think I just heard the announcer say it's officially 80 degrees.

I see 71.8 degrees and a 3 mph wind out of the west currently at Hopkinton.

The women are off. Spread out across the road, looks like nobody interested in pushing the pace.

I find it interesting that Universal Sports is seemingly treating the women's early miles as a pre-race show. Going to the studio, minimal live call.

Glenn Randall of USA with a good lead in the men's race right now but don't expect it to hold. Large men's chase pack will eat him up soon enough.

I happen to be home from work today (no, I do not live in MA or any other state that recognizes Patriots Day) so will be tuning in and toss out some impressions.

Top men 53 sec. slower through 5K than they were last year.  Women on 2:37 pace through 10K.
