Hillrunner.com RSS

What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is an XML based technology that allows websites, such as Hillrunner.com, to syndicate all or portions of their content. An RSS service (or channel) uses a standardized XML format to list items, which contain a headline, description, a link to a webpage, and optionally other information. Hillrunner.com RSS services will offer article or post titles, brief introductions to the articles/posts, and links to the complete articles/posts that will be available on Hillrunner.com.
How do I take advantage of the RSS feeds?
There are a few options available that all work in similar ways. They will read the XML files that you choose to monitor and display the updates from them. By doing this, you can keep up to date with the most recently updated information on Hillrunner.com, as well as other sites that offer RSS feeds, without the need to constantly visit Hillrunner.com looking for updates. At this point in time, unfortunately, Hillrunner.com is the only running related website to offer RSS that I am aware of. If you know of others, please let me know and I will do my part to share them with others.
One way to view RSS feeds is through a browser like Mozilla's Firefox. You can create what Mozilla calls "Live Bookmarks". What this does is create a folder of bookmarks (favorites for those of you familiar with Internet Explorer) that will be updated as described above. This means your "Live Bookmarks" folder will always have the most recent updates and you can look through those for titles that catch your eye. A second option is to download a newsreader. This is basically a small program that you can set up to read as many RSS feeds as you would like and, again, will work as described above to bring you the latest updates. Another option is to use a website known as an RSS directory. There are several available, see the links to the right to directly add your choice of Hillrunner.com feeds to your collection of feeds on any of those sites. These sites typically work like newsreaders. They simply offer a way to get your RSS feeds without downloading a program.
If you would like to receive Hillrunner.com RSS feeds on your website, you can write a news reader that will read the Hillrunner.com RSS files and display the information from them on your website. This would be a quick way, for example, to offer running news headlines on your website without having to maintain a location to place the headlines and update the headlines yourself. An example of how you could do this, as well as the code to do so, will be coming shortly.
What are the Hillrunner.com RSS terms of use?

Just remember that you won't get the full content of any new articles or posts without taking advantage of the links.)
Use on another website is limited to the platforms in which a functional link is made available allowing immediate display of the full article or post on Hillrunner.com as specified in the XML. (In other words, you must offer working links to the addresses specified in the XML files within the channel/item/link tags if you are using Hillrunner.com RSS from your website.)
Use on another website is accompanied by proper attribution to Hillrunner.com as the source. (In other words, please take advantage of the channel/title and channel/link tags to reference your source.)

(In other words, by using this, you are telling me that you understand and agree to the above conditions. You will also not hold Hillrunner.com or anyone affiliated with Hillrunner.com, including its visitors, liable for any damages you experience - I can't think of any kind of damages you would experience so I can offer no specific examples - from using Hillrunner.com's RSS service.
