have fun with it. i combined a trip to visit family with running the 12k last year in houston and it was no picnic. ignoring the ridiculous footing/conditions, the fields are extremely top-heavy, especially for the men — local class and regional class type runners will have a rather lonely race, with mostly the military runners (the armed forces use it as their championships and selection race for world military champs) for company. i know some people who are going up for it, but i have come to the realization that until i enter the masters ranks, then someone such as i has no business trying to compete in this particular event. hope it will be mild and snowfree.
