The start was indeed a mess. I ended up right behind 2 guys who had to toe the line but probably finished no faster than 40:00 based on the pace they started at. By the time I actually pushed one out of the way, I was way back and spent a good portion of the first mile trying to get into position. Oh well, Crazylegs was a good name for the experiment in insanity I sent myself through today and the results were about as expected. Even without any speedwork in a long time and with what would be best described as an anti-taper, I still managed to get a marginally faster time than I did at Al’s Run last year. 14th in 27:07. Nothing to write home about but pretty good considering all the factors that went into this experiment.
