Last night I ran 11 and finished without significant pain. After the run I felt enough discomfort in the right hip/thigh that finishing a marathon without stretching will not be possible.
Rather than run a crappy marathon I will switch to the 10 mile race at Mystic. I am certain the RD will allow this and I have been running well at distances under 13 miles.
If I continue to recover at the current rate I may be able to run Philly at the end of November but at least I won’t waste my time at Mystic.
My recent workouts of around 10 miles suggest I can run under 1:10 (ran 1:14 on Sunday with ease, the last 5 miles all under 7:00). Any time will become my ‘new PB’ since I have never raced this distance.
