gee… I can’t say this has been the biggest month ever, that was September… I’ve had a few things get in my way, like a trip to the ER and my schedule has me tapering… but I think one of the things that people have been trying to say is WAIT TILL IT IS DONE before talking about it as any kind of accomplishment… before that it is a plan or a patially executed plan…

at this point I can say that what I have accomplished is not this month, but a yearly improvement of 320+ miles over where I was this time last year…some weeks I didn’t meet my goal/plan but most I met them and they were all pegged just a bit higher than last year (about 5-10) and I was healthier this year AND my kids were older AND everyone in my house was more supportive of my craziness…

I had a horrible weekend just past and too much got in the way but yesterday at 5pm when I stood in the kitchen (water break) and worried, out loud, that I wasn’t going to get all my miles in my now 18 year old told me to “GET BACK OUT THERE”, since as he put it “we can all F***ing wait for dinner. those miles won’t run themselves”…

which bring me back to the other point… Ed, all of us have lives, things will always get in the way… I understand that you are using this board as motivation, be as bold as you want, but don’t take it too personally when others are BOLD in return… use the correct terminolgy

as in “accomplishment = that which has been fulfilled”

or “plan = method or way of proceeding thought out ahead of time”

and stuff that is “life” can always be posted in the non-running forum… but I think most of us are not professional runners and therfore have jobs & lives and run with the understanding that there is still room in our lives for it because it is not only important but it is part of our definition of ourselves…

sorry for the depth, I’m in the midst of my taper madness…
