good job Chris… it’s so great to hear from people who have followed their plan and raced well… yep, take it out easy, my coaches have been telling me that if it doesn’t feel TOO slow the first mile it’s really too fast…

Ryan and Double know their stuff, from a slower person I can only add that ‘they say’ not to try anything new on race day, but occasionally you can waive that if you think it through, but make sure to use the long runs to test out not only shoes but hydrating & gels… I got very lucky this spring when my upset tummy (unusual for me) settled down with a sip of beer from a Hash House Harrier… at that point I figured a sip couldn’t make it worse (I know it could have, but I got lucky)…

and progression runs have helped me both mentally & physically… one thing I like about half marathons is that when you are training for a marathon they seem REALLY short… can’t wait to hear your report from your marathon…
