my half marathon on Sunday was very interesting… 🙄

1:59:26, which was four minute PR… very humid… like 93% and while it started out fairly cool, by mile 10 the sun was out and it was getting warmer… two other women from my group ran as well, with 16,000 runner I never saw them, both ran slower than expected so I feel fortunate…

the weird thing was that during mile 8 I had someone step on my heel and pull my shoe off… I pulled to the side and put it back on but the visions of scraped and bloody knees and elbows upset me more than I thought possible… I have a REALLY increased respect for the two Olympic incidents (one on the track with a lost shoe and the other the marathon tackle)… it was difficult to get back on pace…

I ran at the track this morning and the coaches were pleased with my race report and my run this morning… they gave me permission to feel like dirt today and Thursday… but as I told them, I don’t mind being tired as long as nothing hurts… the only pain is my left second to littlest toe, probably lose the nail, no big deal…

the logistics for the race were not the best, but I learned a few things and enjoyed most of it… looking forward to less humidity for the next race…
