Interesting article by Coach Johnson. One thing stuck out to me, though. When you're fit and when you're doing hard workouts, the easy run may be more about recovery than gaining further fitness. That said, there are further fitness benefits to be gained on those days. Maybe it's my reading comprehension skills this early in the morning but, when I first read that, I thought he was discounting the further fitness benefits. As I re-read, I saw he wasn't but I also felt his writing could be easily misinterpreted to suggest that he was.
