GTF, you misinterpreted what I was trying to say. I was concerned if he was still doing 20-40 minute tempo runs right up his taper. That that could be one reason for his tiredness at the tail end of this lenghty cycle. And that he would be better served as you suggest to keep “pace work” and “overspeed”, just reduce the frequency and duration. We agree on this when I said be “very selective” about “hard efforts” during the taper. But thanks for the critique.
