I've done a few hill marathons, one with some particularly big climbs.
Looks like the schedule described would do the trick. But rather than elimating “speedwork” altogether would be to just make sure she is getting in 1-2 days with hilly sections every week (shoot for 3 in a two week period). Marathon pace with hills is good–and as indicated above, don't neglect the downhills. Those are often what get you in the end. The impact will be less if you practice running downhills at pace, so include some of these on the long runs and marathon pace efforts.
