sure,becuase as you said you train through this races without tapering , just doing the race at 100% effort  with the weekly training( tired from workouts), so yes they bring a lot of benefits mentally as physically,1) depending on the race and the distance you are training a system( lactate threshold, vo2 max) and you are exposing your body to an  effort  that will be pretty much the same as the goal race just with tapering, more rested and more focused,and mentally tune up races teach you to deal with nerves and to plan out your strategy for your goal race.
