I was watching the NBC coverage of the race. With about 30 meters to go, I told Lisa this is a world record. Too bad the wind was just a touch too strong, that was an amazing run.
I haven't looked up the stats to back this up but the NBC reporters were saying this was the fastest 100m ever run, regardless of wind. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any faster wind aided times. Given how close the wind was to legal, that's a pretty strong statement he just put up as he heads into the Olympics.
