After 2 years, I seem to be symptom-free.  As a part of my core training, I added where you stand on one foot, with your other leg 90 degree behind you, reach down to the ground so you are almost touching, hold repeat….as you are holding, the entire bottom of your foot has to work to keep your balance.  do three time a week.  can't hurt.

I don't do barefoot, maybe some day.
