The next race is tomorrow. The series is holding a 1600m and I would like even splits. Over the past two weeks, I ran two workouts working on pacing (8x400m at 75 sec with 3 min recovery). My biggest risk is definately in the first 200m. I was consistently fast at the 200m during these workouts. I need to start relaxed tomorrow.
I think that some of the issue is that my current mile pace is slightly slower to my current “strides” pace. I run strides about 1-2 times per week for most of the year. I noticed that when I started my pace workouts, I feel like I am just running a stride rep. The goal tomorrow is to start slow and relaxed over the first 200m and build.
