Now that you mention it, I had PF many years ago when I walked a lot and fixed it with orthotics. I did not associate it with the bunion recently, but it’s an idea.
I still drive as much as ever but recently acquired a vehicle that makes it easier to use a different part of the foot and that has helped immensely. Running only makes the bunion worse if I overdo it in non-flexible shoes and don’t do the “toe yoga.” My cheap, flexible runners seem to be the best bet for now. It’s hard to find a shoe that is tight enough for my left foot (no bunion) and the back part of my right foot that is big enough for the bunion.
I will take a look at orthotics.
I think I am trying to assure myself I can have my running dreams now that I’m a bit older, despite the bunion!
