Many will want to know when you ran the PR. Is your training (other than being more hilly) the same as last time? How similar is your base this time around compared to last time?

I ran my PR in spring 2004 on a relatively flat course (similar profile to NYCM). My mileage base has been higher this time – I was running around 70-80mpw before my PR race and have up’d it to around 90mpw this time (highest mileage was around 108). My speedwork has been lacking though, since I got injured a couple of months ago and had a 3-4 week lay-off. I recovered in time to get a bit of speedwork in over the past 6 weeks or so, but it’s hard to do anything other than hill repeats & not-so-fast tempo runs where I live!

Does this help?

Thanks!
