I’ve been nursing a strained muscle in my lower abdomen. I was running all my scheduled miles, but every run was at an easy pace.
It had been feeling better, so I decided to test it by including a short, 2-mile marathon pace run during Wednesday’s ten miler. I felt okay during that run, but the run the following day was very, very painful. I (stupidly) ran the entire five miles on Thursday because I wanted to see if the pain would go away after I warmed up. After a mile and a half or so it was okay, but I could still feel some pain. I’ve decided to take a week or so off and try to heal so that I can run how I want instead of pushing through pain on every run.
After next weekend, I’ll make a decision on a Fall marathon, but I’m not hopeful.
