Drake officials unveiled an updated schedule for the NCAA track and field championships at a Thursday news conference.

For athletic director Sandy Hatfield Clubb, it was another milestone in the buildup to the four-day meet that will air nationally on CBS and CSTV.

The NCAA meet begins at 10 a.m. June 11 and wraps up after the men's 4×400 relay at 4:48 p.m. on June 14.

“We're cranking it up to an all-time high,” Hatfield Clubb said. “We're in a countdown phase.”

The NCAA meet will feature 1,176 athletes from 200 universities, including Florida State sprinter Walter Dix, a defending champion in the 100 and 200 meters.

Dix is among the potential Olympians hoping to compete in Des Moines.
