Olympic sprint hurdles champion Joanna Hayes and World Championship 10,000m bronze medallist Kara Goucher have been added to the line-up for the 101st edition of the Millrose Games, the third stop in USA Track & Field’s Visa Championship Series, which takes place Friday night, 1 February at Madison Square Garden.
Hayes, 31, set an Olympic record in winning the 2004 Olympic gold medal in the 100m Hurdles. She won over 60m Hurdles at the 2006 Millrose in a time of 7.93 seconds, while her PB was set in the 2004 Olympics season with a 7.83 run in the semi-final; stage at that year’s World Indoor Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Among Hayes’s rivals on 1 February will be Canada’s Perdita Felicien, the 2003 outdoor World champion at the 100m Hurdles, who took the 2004 World Indoor title in Budapest in what remains her personal best of 7.75 seconds. In that final Hayes was fourth (7.86).
