How much DOES the heat effect race times? 5K, 10k, marathon, whatever distance. Or does it at all?
I ran a 5k sunday in the same time i did 4 months ago and i feel i’m better trained now than i was then. I’m blaming the heat dammit (and a few ahem hills, underpasses actually).
I live in Houston, TX, so we don’t have polar winters (actually very ideal racing weather in the winter 40-50 degress) but we’ve got the heat. then there’s the humidity, that’s what really gets me. Don’t get me wrong, summer is my favorite time to run, but I can only imagine there is not alot of PR’s going on round here.
