It's a reminder that he needs to literally get off to a running start the next day. Here are the highlights: First, Solinsky hopes to break his personal best in the mile (3 minutes 57.8 seconds) at the Nike Mile on May 29 in Beaverton, Ore. Then he plans to take a crack at training partner Matt Tegenkamp's U.S. record in the two-mile (8:07.07) on June 8 at the Prefontaine Classic. After that, he'll try to knock off world champion Bernard Legat and Tegenkamp and win the 5,000 meters at the U.S. Olympic trials, June 27 to July 6 in Eugene, Ore. Last, but not least, he wants to stand on the podium at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Journal Sentinel article Author Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
