I have again injured my soleus. This has happened a number of times over the last few years. Last year after a great half marathon (for me) I came back to soon and had soleus issues. I have had issues do to shoes, coming back to soon, and this last one from running on a 100 meter track indoors for a week because of ice (and possible hydration issues) or newish shoes and then doing my long run outside. At mile 11 my soleus really tightened up at mile 13 there was a sharp pain that wrapped around even to the front of my leg. Had to hitch a ride home.
I have just found out that the dull pain in my lower back during a long run is also a soleus issue.
Does anyone have experience with this that has hepled with strengthening or anything. I am really frustrated. Thanks for any help offered.
