SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Suzy Favor Hamilton insists she carries no bitterness, but wonders how many races she lost because her leading rival was aided by performance-enhancing drugs.

Favor Hamilton, who turns 38 next month, spoke to reporters yesterday at the opening of the NCAA track and field meet, where she was honored as one of two outstanding student-athletes on the 25th anniversary of the women's championships.

Favor Hamilton's fiercest rival, Regina Jacobs, retired in 2004 after accepting a four-year ban for testing positive for the steroid THG at the 2003 U.S. championships, where she won her 12th national 1500-meter title.
