Taper question

    Ok, so I could venture to guess that the purpose of tapering is to go into the race feeling fresh and rested. But is there any more to it than that? I mean, why not just take 3 or 4 days off before the race?

    Any articles or a more detailed explanation would be much appreciated 🙂
