“Second is the first loser.” It’s a common saying in sports. You hear it during playoff time in the major sports a lot. You sometimes hear it at races. Essentially, it’s all over the place. The problem? It’s not true. If it were, we’d all be losers far more often than not.

On Saturday, September 7th, 2002, the West Bend West, UW-Stout, Wisconsin, and world running families lost a great family member.
