Hacker mentality vs. long term development

It’s all over social media. Hacks to lose weight, hacks to run faster or injury free, hacks to do anything you want at levels that seem impossible.

If only they actually worked. Social media influencers will tell you that these things will work, while usually selling you something from a sponsor, but the truth is that there is only one path to success: do the work.

It’s not an exciting answer. It’s probably a big part of why I’m not a successful social media influencer because it doesn’t get a lot of likes. However, it’s the truth.

If the easy way worked, there would be a lot more very good runners. If shortcuts worked, everyone would be very good. They don’t work. That’s why very good runners are rare: success takes a lot of hard work.
